Crossgate Mall
Crossgate Mall is the largest shopping mall in the Capital District and located on Crossgate Mall Road, about eight miles (13 km) northwest from Downtown Albany. Opened in 1984, the mall was once among the tenth largest shopping malls in the United States. There are more than 250 retailers and restaurants in the this two-floor mall and anchor tenants include Best Buy, Macy’s, JC Penny, Forever 21, and Borders. There is also an 18-screen Regal Cinema showing the latest movies including blockbusters.

Crossgate Commons
Crossgate Commons is a younger and smaller cousin of Crossgate Mall, but still a large shopping mall occupying 1,300,000 sq feet (120,000 sq. meters) of retail space. The mall is located across Washington Avenue Extension – on the opposite side of the avenue is Crossgate Mall. Crossgate Commons is home to the largest Walmart Supercenter in the United States, occupying nearly a fifth of the total retail space. Tenants on the lower floor include Walmart, Sears, Petsmart, and Planet Fitness while the upper floor is also occupied by Walmart as well as Home Depot, Sports Authority, and Golf Galaxy.

Stuyvesant Plaza
Stuyvesant Plaza is an upscale U-shape strip mall and office complex located about five miles (8 km) west from Downtown Albany. The shopping plaza opened in 1959 and is the second oldest in the Capital District after Westgate Plaza. There are no anchor tenants here but home to boutique-style stores including Jacques (tuxedos), Circles (shoes), Frank Adams (jewelry), Ann Taylor (women’s fashion), Eastern Mountain Sports (outdoor gear), and Pearl Grant Richmans (specialty foods). There are also restaurants and cafes including Starbucks, T.G.I. Friday, and Mr Fuji.
Colonie Center
Colonie Center is a shopping mall located about six miles (10 km) from Downtown Albany at the intersection of Central Avenue, Wolf Road, and Interstate 87. Opened in 1966, the two-floor mall entered into a period of decline in the 1990s but has undergone rejuvenation works to improve its image, resulting in increased traffic. Colonie Center occupies 1,300,000 sq. feet (120,000 sq. meters) of floor space and home to 120 stores, restaurants, a food court, and Regal Cinema complex. Tenants include Sears, LL Bean, Macy’s, Barnes & Nobles, and Body Shop.
