| The Metropolitan Museum of Art (often referred as the Met) is a huge museum in Uptown Manhattan located east of Central Park. The museum opened in 1872 and today home to one of the world’s largest art collections totaling more than two million gathered from around the world. For the serious art lovers, a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art would take at least two full days and it is easy to get lost in this museum! Among the popular exhibits are the “Arms and Armour” with its collections from the European medieval period and ancient dynasties of Egypt, Greece, Rome, and Japan. This is a smaller museum focusing on European works of art from the medieval period.
