Goat Island

Goat Island is a small uninhabited island situated in the middle of the Niagara River and in the southwestern corner of the city of Niagara Falls. The island separates the American Falls from the Horseshoe Falls. It is a small island measuring about a mile (1.6 km) in an east-west direction and 0.3 miles (0.5 km) at its widest point. The western end of Goat Island is gradually being eroded by the power of the falls. The waters immediately around Goat Island are relatively shallow and studded with islets and rocks.

Goat Island offers some of the most spectacular views of the Niagara Falls including the American Falls, Horseshoe Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. An elevator provides access down to the foot of the Niagara Falls, leading to the Cave of the Winds and the foot of the Bridal Veil Falls.
